Welcome to ‘My Snazzy Chicken Coop’!
With this website I hope to be providing you with informative, practical, useful and entertaining information on one of my favourite subjects; keeping chickens as pets.
The main reason my focus is on ‘pet’ chickens is because that is what mine are to me. Eggs are an added bonus but I don’t really mind if I get any or not as long as my chickens are healthy and happy. Over the years I have come to realise that keeping chickens isn’t as easy as some people would have you believe and producing your own eggs is not necessarily cheaper than buying them – but they are definitely nicer (and the yolks MUCH more orange) and it does make you a bit more self sufficient so long as your girls are giving you eggs (more self sufficient in terms of having some food available if for some reason you can’t get to the store).
And anyway, they are hilarious 🙂
